Rene Thomas, French Indy 500 newcomer, won 1914 Indianapolis race in a Delage at a record 82.47 mph. Thomas started from 15th position and lead 102 laps. French cars and drivers sweep the first four position – Arthur  Duray in Peugeot,  Albert Guyot in another Delage, and Jules Goux in Peugeot finished behind Thomas. The Type Y Delage racing car designed in 1913, was powered by 6.2 litres developing 105 hp, weighted 950 kg and was capable of 160 kmh speed. The car was used by Delage factory team in 1913 Grand Prix racing in Europe (placed  4th at Grand Prix of ACF at Amienes and took the victory at Grand Prix de l’ACO at Le Mans). The handbuilt 1/43 model is made by MA Scale Models.
