Jordan Mugen-Honda 199 designed by Mike Gascoyne for the 1999 Formula 1 season was the most successful Jordan car for 15 years of the team history. It scores two wins (at Magny-Cours and Monza), a pole position at Nurburgring, 3rd place in Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. All these achievements were earned by efforts of Heinz-Harald Frentzen. For German driver the 1999 season with Jordan 199 was his best year in Formula 1 as well. He had even realistic chance for the title until the last quarter of the Championship. Frentzen’s teammate Damon Hill was out-performed by him and decided to retire after the season.
