Mexican Adrian Fernandez had five-years’ experience and one race win in the CART championship with Galles and Tasman teams before he joined Patrick Racing in 1998. In his Tecate beer sponsored Reynard-Ford he enjoyed 14 top ten finishes with eight top five placements and two victories, Japan and Mid-Ohio, en route to a fourth place showing in the 1998 CART FedEx Championship.
