Conor Daly was signed to contest the 12 road and street circuit races in the No. 20 Ed Carpenter Racing entry, plus in an additional Ed Carpenter entry (No. 47) in the Indianapolis 500. Carlin also signed Daly to compete in the remaining oval races in the No. 59 entry, thus giving Daly full-time status for the 2020 season. Ironically, Daly did not rise above 12th place in his main team, while finished 4 times in top-10 in five races with Carlin. As to Indy 500, Daly was qualified 18th, and in the race he was out on lap 91 after spin-off and contact with the car of Oliver Askew, Arrow McLaren rookie.
