The 125 was the first Ferrari Formula 1 car. The car appeared in 1948 and was based on 125 sports car racer developed by Gioacchino Colombo a year before. The 125 F1 used a supercharged 1.5-litre V12 engine and sported a steel tube-frame chassis with longitudinal and cross members. The car debuted at the Valentino Grand Prix on September 5, 1948, and took many victories in 1949 – 1951, but mainly in minor events.
The model represents the car raced by Luigi Villoresi in the 1950 San remo Grand Prix. “Gigi” finished the race second, behind Juan Manuel Fangio in Alfa Romeo 158.
