





Lorenzo Bandini debuted in Formula One in 1961, driving Cooper T53 for Scuderia Centro Sud, founded in Modena by Guglielmo “Mimmo” Dei. Scuderia used Cooper chassis, fitted with Maserati straight-four engines in place of the standard Climax FPF. Bandini competed in four races in the 1961, scoring his best (9th) in Monza.
