





The N174 appeared in 1974 season was the second F1 car built by Ensign. Like N173 it comprised an aluminium monocoque, conventional outboard suspension, DFV engine and Hewland FGA400 gearbox. The car were used in 1974-75 and served on into 1976 when Amon placed drove it in tree races finishing 14th in South Africa, eighth at Long Beach and fifth in Spain. In the South African Grand Prix the team was sponsored by John Day Model Cars.
