The BT60Y, designed by Sergio Rinland and Tim Denshem, was powered by the Yamaha OX99 V12 engine and was driven by Martin Brundle, who was returning to and Formula One after driving for Jaguar in the 1990 World Sportscar Championship. The team’s second car was in hands of F1 rookie Mark Blundell. Brabham only scored three points in 1991, with one 5th-place for Brundle (in Japan), and Blundell scoring one 6th-place finish (in Belgium).
