1992 March CG911B Lammers

The CG911B was the updated version of the CG911 designed by Chris Murphy and Gustav Brunner for Leyton House Formula One team for the 1991 Formula One season. In 1992 Leyton House was rebranded as March F1, after they were sold to a consortium led by Ken Marrable, John Byfield, Tony Birchfield, Gustav Brunner and Henny Vollenberg. The car was powered by Ilmor V10 engine and was driven by Austrian Karl Wendlinger and French Paul Belmondo. Wendlinger’s 4th place in Canada was the only point finish for the team in 1992. Wendlinger was replaced by Dutch Jan Lammers for the two final races of the season. Lammers came back to F1 a full ten years after his initial final Grand Prix, a record career gap in Formula One. He laps sixth fastest in wet free practice at Suzuka, before retiring from the race with a broken gearbox. At Adelaide, he finishes 12th.
