The 2013 F1 car by Lotus F1 team was designed by James Allison, Nick Chester, Martin Tolliday and Dirk de Beer with Renault supplying the team’s engines. The car was driven by 2007 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean, both of whom remained with the team after competing in 2012. The car’s only real visible difference to its predecessor is the sidepods that feature ramp style exhausts, similar to the Red Bull RB8 and Red Bull RB9. The car retains the stepped nose as one of the only competitors in 2013, opting against the option of a vanity panel to smoothen out the step. Räikkönen won the first race of the year, Australian Grand Prix, and collected seven more podiums throughout the season, finishing 5th in the drivers’ championship. Grosjean was 7th with seven podiums. Lotus-Renault ended the season 4th in the constructors’ standings.
