





Matra MS5 was the Formula 2 and Formula 3 car, based on MS1, first Mtra model appeared in 1965. The car was powered by Ford Cosworth FVA, Ford Cosworth SCA, or BRM P80 1,000 cc naturally aspirated, mid-mounted engines. In the 1966 Pau Grand Prix, the first round of F2 Trophees de France, Tyrrell Racing Organisation was represented by two MS5 cars for Jackie Stewart and Jacky Ickx. Stewart’s car retired in the early stage of the race, and he replaced Ickx in the cockpit of the second MS5 during pit-stop. The shared drive resulted in 4th position at finish.
