The 1994 PPG Indy Car World Series season was the 16th national championship season of American open wheel racing sanctioned by CART. Jacques Villeneuve was 3rd in the 1993 Toyota Atlantic Championship racing with Forsythe/Green Racing, and was promoted to CART by the team for the next season. Villeneuve performed brilliantly in his debut year – he was 2nd in Indianapolis 500 and won his first Indycar race later at Road America. In the final overall standings he was 6th and won the Rookie of the Year title.
