In the 1922 Grand Prix de l’ACF (French Grand Prix) Ballot, Rolland-Pilain and Bugatti defended the French colors against Sunbeam and Aston Martin from Great Britain and FIAT from Italy. Ballot entered three cars with Jules Goux and Giulio Foresti who were driving already with Ballot and count Giulio Masetti. The race winner was Felice Nazzaro driving for FIAT, while all three Ballot cars retired before the half distance.
Giulio Foresti, Italian gentleman racing driver, enjoyed a career of more than two decades, between 1911 and 1933. He competed in countless races at the wheel of cars of different makes, including Itala, OM, Ballot, Peugeot, Rolland-Pilain, Alfa Romeo and Bugatti.
