German amateur driver and engineer Eugen Stoesser (Stößer/Stösser) built this car based on BMW chassis in the 1934. The car called ‘BMW KR6 Stoesser Spezial Kompressor’ featured a Zoller supercharger, pumping up a 1100cc in-line-six engine (type 78). The car was eligible for racing in the voiturette class, and Stoesser entered his creature for the IV Internationales AVUS-Rennen in Berlin in May 1934, but it was not allowed to start as the driver had not taken part in practice. The car appeared in the starting grid a week later, at the ADAC Eifelrennen at Nurburgring, where Stoesser finished 8th. There were no other racing records for this car, while Stoesser continued to race at least until 1936, when he drove MG voiturette car. The Stoesser self-built BMW was originally painted white. After its racing career the Stösser-BMW was completely transformed, repainted and shipped to America and used as sports tourer. Autocult reproduced the car in their model in its transformed and repainted form.
