1930, Bentley, Dick Watney, Frank Clement, IXO, Le Mans

1930 Bentley Speed Six Clement / Watney

The 1930 24 hours of Le Mans race had the smallest  ever field in the Le Mans history; there were only 17 starters. In first half of the race Bentley cars competed with the Mercedes of Rudolf Caracciola / Christian Werner. After Mercedes was retired with a broken dynamo and a flat battery, the race became a procession for the remaining Bentleys. Woolf Barnato and Glen Kidston won the race, and  for Barnato it was his third consecutive victory at Le Mans. Frank Clement and Dick Watney in Bentley #2 finished 2nd, 6 laps behind the winning car.
