The Ferrari 412P was a “customer version” of the famous 330 P3 race car, built for independent teams like NART, Scuderia Filipinetti, Ecurie Francorchamps, and Maranello Concessionaires. These cars had carburetor engines instead of the factory Lucas fuel injection. In the 1967 Le Mans three 412P started represented Maranello Concessionaires (Richard Attwood / Piers Courage), Scuderia Filipinetti (Jean Guichet / Herbert Müller) and the North American Racing Team (NART) for Pedro Rodriguez / Giancarlo Baghetti. The Rodriguez/Baghetti NART Ferrari had slipped down the field and retired after 2am with a burnt piston. NART also ran their older modified-P2 for Chuck Parsons and Ricardo Rodríguez Cavazos.
