Mazda 787B designed my Nigel Stroud and powered by rotary engine developing 710 bhp won the 1991 Le Mans race, the last year when such engines were allowed. The winning Mazdaspeed trio was young F1 drivers Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert and Bertrand Gachot.
