



The 1932 was the third racing season for Scuderia Ferrari, founded in 1929. Scuderia entered three Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 cars in the Spa 24 Hours race, and all finished 1-2-3.
The winning car was driven by Antonio Brivio and Eugenio Siena. Marquis Antonio Brivio Sforza, was a talented sports car driver in the 1930s, mostly at the wheel of Alfa Romeo racing cars. His greatest successes in the field of sports cars include a victory in the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (1932), two victories in the Targa Florio (1933 and 1935) and a win at the Mille Miglia (1936). His greatest successes in Grand Prix races were third places in the Monaco Grand Prix in 1935 and German Grand Prix in 1936. Brivio was also successful bobsledder. He won a bronze medal in the two-man event at the 1935 FIBT World Championships in Igls. At the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, he finished tenth in the four-man event and 12th in the two-man event. After World War II as a motorsport functionary he became a member of the FIA – Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, making the initial proposal for a World Drivers’ Championship early in 1949. On Saturday, 13 May 1950 the flagman who started the first Formula 1 race in history, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, was Marquis Antonio Brivio Sforza. Eugenio Siena, a cousin of Giuseppe Campari, was a mechanic and test driver for Alfa Romeo (assistant to Enzo Ferrari). In 1930 he drove one of three Alfa Romeo 6C 1750s at the IV Mille Miglia for Scuderia Ferrari at team’s racing debut. Siena lost his life in an accident at the 1938 Tripoli Grand Prix, driving a Tipo 312 Alfa Romeo.
