The 1940 Turismo Carretera seasons included two events – Gran Premio Internacional del Norte and 1000 Millas Argentinas. The first event, International Grand Prix of the North, was a multi-stage endurance race started from Buenos Aires and finished in Lima, Peru. The race lasted for 16 days. Fangio won this hardest competition in his Chevrolet V8 Coupe. He also became the Championship winner in 1940.
