Oscar Alfredo Galvez is one of most famous and successful Argentinian racing drivers. The majority of his successes were achieved on the local scene, especially in the Turismo Carretera championship where he raced from 1939 to 1962. Oscar was five-time TC champion (in 1947, 1948, 1953, 1954 and 1961), and won 43 races in the series. In the 1948 season he defended his title driving his old Ford V8 Coupe. That year he won two out of nine series rounds – Premio Mar y Sierras in April and multi-stage Gran Premio Internacional del Norte in December.
