Juan María Traverso is one of the most successful Argentinian touring car driver. He participated in Turismo Carretera in the period 1971 – 2005 and won 6 series’ titles – in 1977, 1978, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999. He also is 7-times winner of the Turismo Competición 2000 (TC2000), an alternative Argentinian touring car series, created in 1979 by the Automobile Club Argentino following a conflict with the Asociación Corredores de Turismo Carretera (ACTC).
