2000 Turismo Carretera champion was Guillermo Ortelli, driving a Chevrolet Chevy, who took his second championship. The runner-up was Omar Martínez for the second consecutive year. From this year on, the great rivalry between the two drivers would begin. Ortelli is one of the most titled TС racers – he won 7 championship titles (in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2011, and 2016).
