The Renault Magnum was produced by the French Manufacturer Renault Véhicules Industriels and later Renault Trucks (also part of Renault) from 1990 to 2013. The truck designed by Marcelo Grandini was launched as the Renault AE (for AErodynamic) in 1990, and notable for being the first modern truck with a completely flat cab floor and for having a mechanically separate cab and engine compartment, resulting in increased comfort inside the cab. It was marketed as Renault Magnum since 1997 when the version with redesigned cabin appeared. The AE trucks were powered by AE380 6-cylinder turbodiesel offering 374 hp, and by the AE500 503 hp Mack V8 diesel. The AE truck was used as Benetton F1 team transporter in 1995-97.
