


The Pegaso Bacalao was a futuristic prototype racing transporter van created by the Spanish company Pegaso in 1952. At least one unit was manufactured. It was created on the basis of a Z-401 model coach , using a gasoline engine that gave 145 hp of power that was soon replaced by a 125 hp diesel unit. The Bacalao was bodied in Zaragoza by Carde and Escoriaza, Spanish manufacturer of railway cars. Bacalao was used as a racing transporter for the Pegaso team in 1953 Le Mans race. Bacalao was in use until 1968, serving various Spanish teams in different domestic competitions.
