The short saga of Parnelli Jones in Formula One ended in 1976 season due to main sponsor Firestone’s decision to quit racing at the end of 1974. The slightly modified VPJ4B car appeared in rounds two and three of the season – in South Africa and US GP. Mario Andretti finished 6th in RSA scoring last points in Parnelli F1 history. After US GP Andretti returned to Lotus for the remainder of the season.
