1976 Penske PC3 Watson

One of the most prominent American racing stables, Team Penske, entered Formula One in 1974 with PC1 car, an aluminium monocoque chassis built around a Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0-litre V8 engine and a Hewland FG 400 gearbox. In the 1976 Penske designer Geoff Ferris developed a second model, the PC3, which was mainly based on March 751 designs. For the second half of the season Penske presented the next car,  PC4, featured a low monocoque tub with hip radiators. The works Penske car driver John Watson raced the PC3 in first 6 rounds of the Championship scoring two points for 5th place in South Africa. When PC4 became available starting from round 7, the Swedish Grand Prix, Watson rocketed to the top, finishing 3rd at French and British GP and winning the Austrian round, the first and only Penske win in F1.
