The Jordan car for the 1997 season was designed by Paul Crooks (chief designer) and Gary Anderson (technical director) and was powered by Peugeot A14 V10 engine. After a disappointing 1996 season, Eddie Jordan replaced Rubens Barrichello and Martin Brundle with two young drivers — German rookie Ralf Schumacher, younger brother of double World Champion Michael Schumacher, and Italy’s Giancarlo Fisichella, who had driven eight races for Minardi in 1996. Fisico finished the season 7th with two podiums (3rd in Canada and 2nd in Belgium). Ralf was 11th with 3rd-place finish in Argentina as his best.
