The 2023 season was last for the Red Bull junior team under the name AlphaTauri – from the next season the team changed the name to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team, shortened to Racing Bulls or VCARB. With the AT04 AlphaTauri finished in 2023 8th in the Constructors’ Championship with 25 points.
Formula 2 graduate Liam Lawson from New Zealand made his Formula One debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix for AlphaTauri, temporarily replacing Daniel Ricciardo after he sustained a broken hand in a crash in Friday’s second free practice session. Lawson drove for AlphaTauri in five races finishing 9th at Singapore as his best.
