The VF-23 was designed by the team led by Simone Resta as technical director and Andrea de Zordo as chief designer. The car was powered by Ferrari and was driven by Kevin Magnussen for his second consecutive year with the team, having also raced for them from 2017 to 2020 and Nico Hulkenberg, who returned to Formula One in 2023 after 3 years without a full-time race contract. Despite some good races, Haas team took the last place in 2023 season. Hulkenberg collected 9 points with two point-scoring finishes and ended up the season 16th, Magnussen scored 3 points and finished 19th in the championship.
