



The ninth season of the FIA Formula E championship began its third generation of technical regulations. The new car, Gen 3, with the new chassis again built by Spark Racing Technology and now powered by two powertrains, with a second one added to the front axle, increasing the maximum power output from 250 kW to 600 kW. The weight of the car was reduced by 60 kg. Increased power and reduced weight saw maximum speeds climb to over 320 km/h.
Formula 2 graduate Dan Ticktum joined Formula E in 2021-22 season for the he NIO 333 FE Team finishing his debut season 21st with 1 point. Next year Ticktum was 17th with 28 points while his teammate Sergio Sette Camarra scored 14th and finished the season 20th.
