AREK was a brand of Russian Elekon electronic industry company from Kazan, Tatarstan, used for manufacturing of 1:43 scale models, mostly KAMAZ trucks. First scale model was issued in 1979 – it was KamAZ-5511 dump truck. The production of truck scale models was carried out under the brand AREK until around 1990, and since then Elecon brand is used for scale models from Kazan.
