Tamiya Incorporated is Japanese manufacturer famous of its plastic model kits and radio controlled cars. Some 1:43 scale diecast lines are produced as well. The company was founded in 1946 by Yoshio Tamiya in Shizuoka, Japan. Siunce 1960, beginning with the Honda F1 (RA273), Tamiya dealt with many plastic model kits of Formula 1 cars. Because of that, the company decided to sponsor Team Lotus in 1991.
