Tony Vanderwell’s team was the main rival of Scuderia Ferrari in 1958 Formula 1 season. Vanwall’s drivers Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks won 7 out of 10 Grand Prix of the season, but lost driver’s Championship to Mike Hawthorn who won only one race but was more stable during the entire season. Tony Vanderwell was satisfied with the first Constructors’ Championship title, or International Cup for F1 Manufacturers as it was officially called. Tony Brooks whose victorious car from Italian Grand Prix is represented in this model won also in Belgium and Germany.
