American veteran was recruited by Ferrari for the last two races of the 1982 Formula 1 Championship to replace Didier Pironi who was very seriously injured in an accident during wet qualifying session at German Grand Prix. In his first race after comeback Andretti drove 126C2 to the third position at Italian Grand Prix in Monza. It was Andretti’s last podium and last finish in F1 race.
