The FW14B was one of the most successful cars in the history of Formula 1. In the 1992 season it won 10 out of 16 rounds of the Championship. Nigel Mansell overwhelmingly dominated the season by winning 9 Grand Prix (a record of that time), and his teammate Riccardo Patrese added 10th victory to the team’s account of the season. The FW14B was technically very advanced machine featured a full range of modern engineering solutions like semi-automatic transmission, active suspension, traction control and, for a brief period, anti-lock brakes. Designed by Adrian Newey it also had excellent aerodynamic features. Power of the car was produced by 3.5-litres Renault RS3C V10 engine. FW14B was the further development (mainly in the field of aerodynamics) of FW14 from 1991. The excellent performance of the car in 1992 even prevents its successor FW15, which was ready mid-season, from to be used in real races.
