Ensign N176 designed by Mo Nunn and Dave Baldwin was based on N175 design form 1975. When Mo Nunn lost the rights on N175 by losing legal dispute with HB Bewaking of Hoogenboom brothers, he was able to use the old stuff for the new car. N176 actually inherited all the features of N175, the only original feature was outboard brakes as per the request of new signing Chris Amon. The car was powered by usual custom Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8 engine. Amon had some great qualifying results with N176. He qualified third in Sweden and sixth in Britain but only took points in Spain where he finished in fifth place. The scale model by Spark is Amon’s Valvoline sponsored car from the Belgian Grand Prix 1976. Chris qualified his car in 8th position in Zolder, but retired in the race because of an accident.
