The A21 was completely new design for Arrows team. The sponsorship from cell phone company Orange helped to technical director Mike Coughlan and chief aerodynamicist Eghbal Hamidy to develop the clean aerodynamically efficient car which demonstrated consistently highest top speeds at most of the season’s tracks. The A21 was powered by revised Supertec V10 engine which had sufficient power but not the reliability. The two drivers of the team (Pedro de la Rosa and Jos Verstappen) together scored 7 points and missed out on many more due to reliability problems. The best finish for the team was Jos Verstappen’s fourth place at Monza.
