2006 Honda RA106 Barichello

New regulation allowed the usage of 2.4L V8 engines in Formula One were introduced in 2006, which continued till the end of the 2013 season. The teams also have to adapt to other new regulations such as minimum weight and crank heights, plus the banning of certain materials and of variable intake trumpets. Honda, as the majority manufacturers started completely new design. New RA806E engine featured the same reliability as the V10s, which revs to at least the same level. The chassis was designed by the team headed by Geoff Wills. The 2006 was the first time Honda had competed as a full team since 1968. The RA106 was driven by Jenson Button, who had spent three seasons with the team as British American Racing, and by Rubens Barichello, who came after 6 years in Ferrari. Button get Honda’s first win in their F1 return by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix. A couple of  podiums and consistent performance throughout the whole season resulted in 56 points and the 6th place in the Divers’ standings for Button. Barrichello, whose best finish was 4th place in Monaco and Hungary, was 7th in the Championship.
