Grand Prix History in Scale Models

2006 Williams FW28 Webber

FW28, the 2006 Williams car, was the creature of Sam Michael (Technical Director), Jörg Zander (Chief Designer), and Loïc Bigois (Chief Aerodynamicist). The Cosworth V8-powered car had a lot of handling and reliability problems. However, the season started with some hopes inspirited by a double points finish by Webber and Rosberg with Rosberg setting the fastest lap of the race on his F1 début at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Then after local success marked by  the second-row qualifying performance at Sepang, the season went downhill. Williams finished eighth in the Constructors’ Championship – the team’s lowest finish since its inaugural season in 1978. Mark Webber  took 14th place in the Drivers’ Championship scoring 7 points, and Rosberg was 17th with 4 points.
