The 18, first rear-engined Lotus car, designed by Colin Chapman, was introduced in 1960 as F1, F2 and Formula Junior cars. The light and simple F1 car featured steel spaceframe chassis and Coventry Climax engine. In the 1961 season Lotus 18 was used by works and many private teams, including Camoradi International with Ian Burgess behind the wheel. The model relates to Burgess’ car from the 1961 French Grand Prix.
