1992 Ferrari F92A Capelli

The F92A was designed by Jean-Claude Migeot for 1992 Formula One season. F92A was evolved from the 643 model of 1991, was powered by Ferrari V12 3.5-litre engine and was driven by Jean Alesi and Ivan Capelli. The car was most famous for its “double-flat bottom” floor that made it difficult to drive. The car only achieved two podiums and a total of 21 points. The initial version of the F92A was used in first 11 races of the season, and then was replaced by F92AT. The new version featured seven-speed transverse gearbox, with a modified front suspension. The best result of Ferrari in 1992 was 3rd places of Alesi in Spain and Canada, while Capelli, who later described the F92A as he worst F1 car he raced in his career, finished best as 5th in Brazil.
