





The RB5 was designed by the team headed by Adrian Newey with Geoff Wills, Rob Marshall, and Peter Prodromou. The Renault-powered car was the fifth Red Bull F1 model, and first which was capable winning races. The driver’s line-up of the season was Mark Webber in his 3rd year with the team, and Sebastian Vettel, who came from Toro Rosso. The team secured their first pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel. On the race day in rainy conditions Vettel won, marked Red Bull Racing’s first-ever win, with Webber second. Further during the season, Vettel won 4 more races and became the second in the championship. As for Webber, he won the first victory in his career at the German Grand Prix, and then won in Brazil and eventually took 4th place in the championship. In the constructors’ standings, Red Bull was slightly behind Brawn, but far ahead of everyone else.
