Team Lotus with Andy Granatelli entered two cars as STP Oil Treatment Specials for 1967 Indianapolis 500. Graham Hill, winner of the 1966 500, drove new 42F chassis while Clark used the same 38 model, as he drove in 1965 (winning the race) and 1966. Both had retired very early in the race due to the same problem – burned piston of Ford V8 engines.
