Dean Hall was a professional and international skier before his racing career, and in particular specialised in professional speed skiing. Before moving to CART, he was the 1988 West Coast Formula Atlantic Racing champion and the 1989 Formula Pacific champion. In 1990 he was signed by Dale Coyne Racing and had his first and only full season in CART. Then he recorded one start in 1991, and returned to the series only in 1995, when Dick Simon Racing signed him and Formula One veteran Eliseo Salazar to drive the team’s two cars. Hall drove #99 yellow Lola T95 sponsored by Subway in first five races of the season, scoring two points for two 12th places in Miami and Surfers Paradise. Hall was released from the team after failing to qualify for the Indy 500, and has since disappeared from open wheels racing. He spent a couple of seasons in American sports car racing in 1996-97 before his retirement from motorsport.
