Tyrrell 011 was designed in 1981 to replace the older 010 in the final third of the season. Designed by Maurice Philippe and powered by conventional Ford Cosworth DFV, the 011 raced in three seasons of Formula One (1981 – 1983) although its only full season was 1982. In the car debut race at 1981 German Grand Prix Eddie Cheever finished 5th. Michele Alboreto drove the 011 since the Dutch Grand Prix where he was 9th.
