The name Aston Martin returned to Formula One after 60 years gap. In 2020, Racing Point owner Lawrence Stroll invested into Aston Martin and got a 16.7% stake in the company. This resulted in the rebranding of Racing Point F1 Team into Aston Martin F1 Team for the 2021 season. The cars were painted in British Racing Green, and Cognizant, international information technology and consulting company, became a title sponsor. Sebastian Vettel came to Aston Martin from Ferrari to partner Lance Stroll. At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Vettel claimed Aston Martin’s first podium in Formula One by finishing 2nd. Vettel also finished second in Hungary, but was later disqualified, after his car failed to provide the one litre sample of fuel required. He ended the season in 12th place in the Drivers’ standings, ahead of teammate Stroll.
