1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt had a controversial post-title season in 1977. McLaren started the season with M23 car, and Hunt scored just one podium (2nd in Brazil) in first six races of the season. After switching to new M26, the victories came only in the second half of the championship. Hunt won British Grand Prix at Silverstone and after series of retirements won again at Watkins Glen and Fuji, finishing 5th in the championship.
