The 184T designed by Luigi Marmiroli (Technical Director) and Mario Tollentino (Chief Designer) and powered by 1,5-litre Alfa Romeo V8 turbocharged engine, was used by the Alfa Romeo team during the 1984 and 1985 Formula One seasons. Italian Riccardo Patrese and Italian-American Eddie Cheever drove both seasons for Benetton-sponsored team. In 1984 Patrese scored 3rd place at his home Grand Prix at Monza. Cheever’s best of the season was 4th place in the season-opening Brazilian Grand Prix, his only point scoring finish of the year.
