





Team TOM’s, or Tachi Oiwa Motor Sport, is one of the leading motorsport stables in the Japanese racing scene. TOM’s is Toyota factory supported racing team entered cars in Japanese formula, sports and GT racing since the end of 1980s. In the 2002 Japanese Formula 3 Championship TOM’s was represented by Italian Paolo Montin and three local drivers Naoki Yokomizo, Tatsuya Kataoka, and Katsuyuki Hiranaka. Montin scored 7 wins and finished runner-up in the championship behind Japanese Takashi Kogure from another Japanese grand team – Dome Racing. In the 2002 Macau Grand Prix, most prestigious F3 event, open for entries from all F3 championships, Montin took pole position but retired due to collision with American Richard Antinucci in Leg 2.
