





Arie Luyendyk, winner of the Indy 500 in 1990, after his CART career drove in IRL for Byrd-Treadway Racing since the beginning of the series. The team was owned by Indianapolis businessman Fred Treadway, and Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria, was secured as sponsors. Luyendyk achieved three victories in 13 IRL races in first two seasons of the league. In 1998 he won the final round at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and finished the season, his last full year in Indycars, 8th.
